Tradesman Nutrition Energy Drink and Before Work Fuel are both sugar-free powdered energy drinks sold to blue-collar workers. The biggest differences are format and label: Tradesman comes in single-serve sachets with every active ingredient dosed. Before Work Fuel comes in a 30-serving jar, lets you choose one or two scoops, and adds creatine, more B vitamins, and more minerals, with one proprietary blend. Tradesman is cheaper when you buy two or three boxes. Before Work Fuel is cheaper on a single-unit subscription.

Disclosure: Blue Collar Nutrition makes Before Work Fuel and publishes this comparison. It is based on each brand's published U.S. Supplement Facts panel, directions, and prices as listed on October 2, 2026. We did not run a side-by-side test, and this is not an independent review.

Tradesman Nutrition Energy Drink Caffeine vs. Before Work Fuel

Tradesman Nutrition Energy Drink: 200mg of caffeine per sachet. Directions say to mix one sachet with 10 to 12 oz of cold water, take it on an empty stomach or with a light meal, and not exceed one sachet per day. They also advise against taking it close to bed.

Before Work Fuel: 150mg of caffeine per scoop. Directions say to mix one or two scoops with 8 to 16 oz of cold water, 15 to 30 minutes before the shift, and never exceed two scoops in any 24-hour period.

Two scoops of Before Work Fuel is 300mg of caffeine, but it also uses 20g of powder. A jar then lasts 15 days instead of 30, and the cost per day doubles. One scoop is the standard serving everywhere in this comparison.

More caffeine doesn't mean better or longer-lasting energy. The right amount depends on your tolerance and the rest of your day. Count every source, including coffee and soda. Don't stack either product with other caffeinated supplements.

Tradesman Nutrition Energy Drink Ingredients vs. Before Work Fuel

What they share

Both contain caffeine, beta-alanine (750mg in Before Work Fuel, 700mg in Tradesman), niacin, vitamin B6 (2mg in both), and vitamin B12 (6mcg in both). Both also contain taurine, citrulline, and tyrosine. Tradesman lists each one at a stated dose. In Before Work Fuel they sit inside the proprietary matrix.

Only in Before Work Fuel

Before Work Fuel lists 1,500mg of dicreatine malate (a creatine compound, not the same weight-for-weight as creatine monohydrate) and 1,500mg of L-arginine alpha-ketoglutarate. It also lists thiamine, riboflavin, folate, and pantothenic acid, so seven B vitamins in total. It adds potassium, calcium, magnesium, and chromium too.

Its 550mg Energy/Endurance/Focus Matrix contains L-taurine, betaine anhydrous, waxy maize, L-citrulline malate, glycocyamine, glucuronolactone, and L-tyrosine. The total is stated and every ingredient is named, but the individual amounts are not. On label transparency, Tradesman's panel is more complete.

Only in Tradesman Nutrition Energy Drink

Tradesman lists Alpha GPC 50% at 600mg, rhodiola rosea extract at 400mg, ornithine at 200mg, Panax ginseng extract at 200mg, and L-theanine at 100mg. Its citrulline (2.5g) and tyrosine (600mg) are disclosed at amounts you can read directly off the label.

Electrolytes

Before Work Fuel has 80mg of sodium and 75mg of potassium per scoop. Tradesman lists 40mg of sodium and no potassium. Neither amount makes either product a hydration solution. For heavy-sweat work, use a dedicated electrolyte product such as Hydrate alongside water.

Having an ingredient on the label doesn't by itself mean better results at work. These are differences in what each label contains, not proof of performance.

Jar vs. Single-Serve Sachets

Lunchbox and on the road: A sealed sachet goes anywhere, needs no measuring, and is the easier option to carry away from home. Before Work Fuel means scooping at home or carrying powder. The optional travel funnel, sold separately, pours a scoop into a water bottle. It's not included with a standalone jar.

Measuring and mixing: Sachets give you the same dose every time. The jar lets you choose one or two scoops, which is the point if you want control, but it means one more step.

Storage and waste: One jar holds 30 servings in one container. Sachets mean 30 individual wrappers plus a box.

If convenience away from home matters most, this category goes to Tradesman.

Price Per Serving

Prices in U.S. dollars as listed October 2, 2026. Cost per serving equals price divided by labeled servings.

Quantity Before Work Fuel Tradesman Nutrition Energy Drink
30 servings, one-time $49.99 ($1.67) $49.00 ($1.63)
30 servings, subscription $39.97 ($1.33) $44.10 ($1.47)
60 servings, one-time 2 jars, $99.98 ($1.67) 2 packs, $88.20 ($1.47)
60 servings, subscription 2 jars, $79.94 ($1.33) 2 packs, $79.38 ($1.32)
90 servings, one-time 3 jars, $149.97 ($1.67) 3 packs, $116.13 ($1.29)
90 servings, subscription 3 jars, $119.91 ($1.33) 3 packs, $104.52 ($1.16)

Before Work Fuel has no multi-jar discount, so two or three jars cost the single-jar price times the quantity. Tradesman discounts its two- and three-pack bundles, and its 3-pack also lists free gifts. At 60 servings the two are roughly even. At 90 servings Tradesman costs less. At a single unit on subscription, Before Work Fuel costs less.

Shipping: Blue Collar Nutrition ships free on orders over $99. Under that, standard shipping is $7.99 in the continental U.S. Tradesman lists free shipping on orders over $75. Its shipping charge below that wasn't shown on the page reviewed.

Optional: BCN Pack Offers

These packs are multi-product, so they aren't a direct match for one energy drink. The Overtime Pack pairs Before Work Fuel with mid-shift Refuel (125mg caffeine per serving) for $74.97 every 30 days, subscription only. The Workday Pack adds After Work Recovery. To compare BCN's starting options, see which product or pack to start with.

Blue Collar Nutrition vs. Tradesman Nutrition: Which Fits You?

Tradesman Nutrition Energy Drink may fit you better if you want grab-and-go sachets, a fixed 200mg dose, every active ingredient disclosed at a stated amount, or the lowest cost per serving on a 90-day bundle. It also makes sense if you specifically want Alpha GPC, rhodiola, ginseng, or theanine on the label.

Before Work Fuel may fit you better if you want to set your own dose at 150mg or 300mg, or prefer the lower single-unit subscription price. It also suits you if you want creatine, seven B vitamins, potassium, calcium, and magnesium on the label, or a choice of three flavors.

Neither one is the right pick for everyone. Read both labels against how you work. If the jar format and dose control fit your day, start with Before Work Fuel.
