Quick answers

What's in Super Beta Prostate? The original formula's main active is 250mg of beta-sitosterol from pine phytosterols per 2-caplet serving, plus vitamin D, zinc, selenium and other minerals. It contains no saw palmetto, pygeum or mushrooms.

Does it work? Beta-sitosterol's evidence comes mostly from small, short-term studies. Results vary, and it isn't a substitute for seeing a doctor about urinary symptoms.

What do customers say? Around 4.2 stars on Amazon. The complaints that come up most involve auto-ship billing from past "free bottle" offers.

How much does it cost? $39.95 one-time or $33.95 on auto-ship for a 30-day bottle.

Want broader daily prostate support? Blue Collar Nutrition Prostate combines several ingredients in one formula:

  • Saw palmetto 200mg, pygeum 100mg and a plant sterol complex, every main dose printed
  • A three-mushroom blend of maitake, reishi and shiitake, plus nettle root and pumpkin seed
  • Zinc, selenium and vitamin E
  • $34.99 one-time or $29.74 on subscription, with no auto-ship required
  • Made in the USA with global ingredients, third-party tested, 30-day money-back guarantee

If you've listened to talk radio or watched late-night TV, you've heard the Super Beta Prostate ads. It's one of the best-known prostate supplements in the country, sold direct by New Vitality and on shelves at stores like Sam's Club and The Vitamin Shoppe.

We sell a competing prostate formula, and we're saying that up front. Here's what's on the Super Beta label, what the research says, what customers report, what it costs, and how it compares.

This article is general information, not medical advice. Urinary changes are worth a conversation with your doctor before you start any supplement.

What's on the Super Beta Prostate label

From the supplement facts panel on New Vitality's product page for the original formula. Serving size is 2 caplets, 30 servings per 60-caplet bottle.

Ingredient Per serving % DV
Beta-sitosterol (pine phytosterols, Phytopin) 250mg *
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) 20mcg (800 IU) 100%
Calcium 172mg 13%
Phosphorus 71mg 6%
Zinc (citrate) 15mg 136%
Selenium 70mcg 127%
Copper 2mg 222%
Manganese 2mg 87%
Chromium 120mcg 343%
Molybdenum 75mcg 167%
Silica 20mg *
Boron (glycinate) 3mg *

Other ingredients: rice flour, cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, glycerin and hydroxypropyl cellulose. Directions: two caplets once daily, with or without food.

The formula is built around beta-sitosterol. Beyond that, the label is a mineral stack: vitamin D, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese, chromium, molybdenum and boron, many of which also appear in a standard multivitamin. If you take one, add up the totals. There's no saw palmetto, pygeum, lycopene or mushrooms.

Super Beta Prostate also sells an "Advanced" version with saw palmetto and reishi mushroom inside a blend, plus chewables. This review covers the original formula, which is what most people mean by "Super Beta Prostate." Check which bottle you're buying.

Does beta-sitosterol work?

A Cochrane review of beta-sitosterol trials found that men taking it reported better urinary symptoms and flow than men taking a placebo. The catch is that those studies were small and short, mostly a few months, so there's little data on long-term use.

Two more caveats. The research measured symptoms, not prostate size, so beta-sitosterol isn't shown to shrink an enlarged prostate. And urinary symptoms have several possible causes, so a supplement shouldn't replace getting checked. If your stream is weakening or you're up at night, see our guides on a weak urine stream, waking up at night to pee and emptying your bladder.

Super Beta Prostate reviews and complaints

Ratings: the original 60-count on Amazon averages around 4.2 out of 5 across thousands of ratings, and Sam's Club lists hundreds of member reviews for its 120-count.

What positive reviews say: fewer nighttime bathroom trips and less urgency, often after a few weeks. Some men say they use it alongside a medication their doctor prescribed.

What negative reviews say: some men notice no difference. The bigger complaint is billing. Super Beta Prostate's maker ran "free bottle" offers that enrolled buyers in automatic monthly shipments, and Truth in Advertising reported dozens of Better Business Bureau complaints from customers who said they didn't realize they'd signed up and kept getting billed after cancelling.

How to avoid that: buy a single bottle one-time, or buy at a retailer where you control the reorder. If you choose Refill & Save, read the terms and set a reminder before the next ship date.

Super Beta Prostate price per day

Prices checked October 2026 and subject to change. Retail pricing varies by store.

For comparison, BCN Prostate is $34.99 one-time, about $1.17 a day, or $29.74 on subscription, about $0.99 a day, with no multi-bottle commitment needed to get the lower price.

Super Beta Prostate side effects

Beta-sitosterol is generally well tolerated in studies. The most commonly reported issues are mild digestive effects like gas, upset stomach or loose stools. A few things to know:

  • It can affect cholesterol absorption. Plant sterols are also used to help lower cholesterol, so mention it to your doctor if you take cholesterol medication.
  • People with sitosterolemia, a rare inherited condition, should avoid plant sterol supplements.
  • Stacking minerals. If you also take a multivitamin, add up the zinc, selenium, chromium and copper.
  • The label's own precautions: adult men only, consult a doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart disease or take any medication, and stop two weeks before surgery.

What "#1 urologist recommended" means

The label's fine print says the claim is based on an independent survey conducted by IQVIA, a health data company. In plain terms, among urologists surveyed about which prostate supplement brand they recommend, Super Beta Prostate came up most. That's a signal of brand recognition among doctors, built in part by years of national advertising. It isn't a clinical trial of the product, and it doesn't mean your urologist would recommend it for you. Ask them.

Super Beta Prostate vs ProstaGenix vs Blue Collar Nutrition Prostate

Subscription price $29.74 $33.95 Varies by bundle

Where they're similar: Super Beta and ProstaGenix carry nearly identical mineral lineups, with the same zinc, selenium, manganese, chromium, molybdenum and boron amounts. The real differences between those two are price and whether you can see the sterol dose. Super Beta prints its beta-sitosterol amount; ProstaGenix doesn't.

Where ours is different: Blue Collar Nutrition Prostate takes a broader approach. Instead of building around one ingredient, it combines saw palmetto, pygeum, plant sterols, nettle root, pumpkin seed and a three-mushroom blend with zinc, selenium and vitamin E, and it costs less than either one. Ours includes 4mg of copper, so check your multivitamin if you take one. For a full breakdown of what to look for across the category, see our guide to natural prostate supplements, and our ProstaGenix review for that label in full.

Who each one fits

  • BCN Prostate if you want a broader daily formula with saw palmetto, pygeum, mushrooms and sterols in one capsule, at the lowest one-time price of the three. For a full over-40 routine, the My Prime 40+ Pack bundles it with Multi Men's and your choice of Hammer or Overdrive Men's.
  • Super Beta Prostate if beta-sitosterol is the one ingredient you want and you don't need anything else in the formula.
  • ProstaGenix if you want a large total sterol blend and a 90-day guarantee, and you're fine not seeing individual doses.
  • None of them yet if your symptoms are new, getting worse, or include blood, pain or fever. Start with a doctor.

The original formula does not. Super Beta Prostate Advanced adds saw palmetto and reishi mushroom in a blend. Check which version you're buying.

It can affect cholesterol absorption, and people with the rare condition sitosterolemia should avoid it. The label advises consulting a doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart disease or take medication.

Absolutely not. All products are natural, hormone-free, and do not contain any amphetamines or substances that would trigger a failed drug test — whether for bodybuilding, employment, or any other purpose.
